"Be the change you wish to see in the world" Gandhi
Last fall fortune fell and I caught it in the form of a book on cd. It would be wonderful for my story to say it fell off the shelf at the library but i just casually picked up "The Power of Now" wondering if this was yet again another book of half truths. Normally I work while I listen to cd's but in this case all work stopped hearing Eckhart Tolle's voice. I even commented to a friend after listening to Eckhart the first time that I can never view the world the same. His voice allowed me to pull up once again lingering pain and false beliefs, view them and release them. After listening to him twice, several months apart, I now have the urge to begin again with him.

It is the voice and his gentle explaining that hits my heart again and again. This is a book to be listened to if one is sensitive to sound. They do not teach that there is great power in listening and Eckhart has that ability to teach through sound just as Patricia Sun does. I have been blessed to have found these two souls in this life.

I have been a searcher on and off since 17 after reading in my psychology course the concept of "Self Actulization" as Maslow described it. I realize now that my path was set from that spring day in 1967. What power one sentence or one thought can have to set the course of a life. My life. Only recently as a 53 year old woman have I understood the connection between innocence and actualizing. One can only understand one's spirit through the eyes of innocence. In pulling up my emotional pain which had settled so long in my body I saw through innocence how it happened to me and how I allowed the suffering to stay. As Eckhart says "The emotional pain body" of both my own life and also that of humanity had entwined my soul. Releasing this sorrow released my spirit further.
"Enlightenment is a very individual process, because of it's individuality, it has created many problems. First, there are no fixed stages through which a person necessarily passes. Every person passes through different phases, becasue each person in many lives has gathered different kinds of conditionings.
So it is not a question of enlightenment, it is a question of the conditionings- that will shape your way. And everybody has different conditions so no two persons' paths are going to be the same. That's why I insist again and again. There is no superhighway, there are only footpaths- and that too, not ready-made. Not that you find them already there and you have just to walk on then- no. As you walk, you make them. Your very walking makes them".

And along your path you will meet others. This is the joy of connection. We are all one.
